Project | Software Model Interface | The Software Model Interface (SMI) is a library for modeling hardware components in a combination of C/C++ and Verilog HDL. With SMI, hardware components are modelled using simple Verilog bus-functional models (BFMs) controlled by C/C++ running in one or more separate threads or processes. SMI provides the user with an easy-to-use interface and takes care of all calls to the Verilog-PLI and to the socket/thread library. |

Project | Prepro | Prepro is an embedded Perl/Python pre-processor for text files, e.g. Verilog source code. Prepro allows Perl or Python to be embedded in a text file in a similar manner to a standard preprocessor, with preprocessor statements and variables, but with the functionality of a full-featured scripting language. |
Project | Fifofum | Fifofum is a GUI-based tool for building FIFOs in Verilog HDL. Fifofum can generate FIFOs that store entries in either flip-flops, single-port memories, or dual-port memories. All FIFOs use a standard interface and protocol regardless of the storage type. Fifofum can also generate asynchronous FIFOs for sending data between two clock domains. |

Adrian Lewis founded Corner-Case Research and is currently working on Shiny - a tool to help ASIC designers and verifiers find implementation bugs in chip designs. Adrian Lewis has been designing silicon chips in Silicon Valley for over 10 years, until recently leading the design group at Sinett Corporation. Dr. Lewis has also worked at Airgo Networks, Microsoft, Diamond Multimedia, and Media Vision, designing chips for wireless networking, video and audio processing. Before moving to the US, Dr. Lewis co-founded KLICS Limited and developed the first zero-tree wavelet-based video compression algorithms. Dr. Lewis was a visiting professor at the University of the Balearic Isles (Spain). Dr. Lewis received B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from Imperial College, University of London, and received the Usmani prize for micro-electronics. |
